August Apex Legends player count hit new highs on Steam following the release of Apex Legends: Hunted Season 14. Launching on August 9, the latest season helped solidify Apex’s reputation as one of the best battle royale games around with the release of the new Legend Vantage and its lovable bat companion Echo. The launch of Season 14 helped Apex Legends reach a record number of concurrent players on Valve’s platform with over half a million concurrent active users, and it looks like the trend will continue.
According to SteamDB, Apex Legends saw a daily low peak of 329,041 concurrent Steam users in August, up from 311,275 the previous July. The average daily spike in August also jumped to 414,130, surpassing the previous high of 339,363 in May following the release of Apex Legends: Saviors Season 13.
Until earlier this month, some players on the game’s subreddit attempted to hype “No Apex August” to protest the increasing number of bugs, connectivity issues, and issues with the Apex Legends matchmaking system. However, as many users point out in the August View Count thread, the subreddit community is only a small fraction of the actual player base in the game, and the movement hasn’t even caught on among the subreddit’s active users.
As always, louder players tend to be unhappy, but the numbers speak for themselves and they look fantastic for a Respawn game right now.
