The Sims 4 bug with the Social Bunny app is causing confusion and frustration about how relationships work in the Game of Life. Maxis and EA added the Social Bunny app with the High School Years extension to simplify and improve the social media experience by adding new ways to connect and interact with friends that should ideally make using social media more enjoyable and intuitive. . And it does, to an extent, but there’s a slightly unexpected problem when it comes to seeing these relationships flourish.
Reddit user forward_spinach5877 asked why their Sim is slowly developing a romantic relationship in their dreams with one of their best friends who, at least during their waking hours, doesn’t pique their interest. a rise in romantic feelings, leading forward_spinach and some others to speculate that it might be… a physiological characteristic, so to speak, designed to complement the adolescent experience.
But it turns out that’s not really the case. Later in the conversation, apart from the jokes about wet sheets etc, other players said that it was more or less normal for the Social Bunny course. There seems to be a bug in the app that causes your Sim to randomly fall in love with one of their contacts, regardless of their relationship or gender.
Sure, it’s a very real idea to wake up one day and realize you have feelings for someone, but that’s a problem with Maxis’ changes to the way the game deals with your Sim’s sexual orientation. If you want a female sim to only be attracted to other women, this is a great way to break the fantasy of the role and punch some holes in the experience.
