It’s time to “take to the streets” as Rocket League kicks off its eighth season on Sunday, September 7. In an announcement on Thursday, Psyonix revealed details of the upcoming season and offered new content for players.

Entering the motorsport arena, the Honda Civic Type R became the first real car to be included in Rocket Pass Premium. Designed by Honda’s racing team, this sedan will have the same hitbox as the Octane. Players also have the option to obtain the Honda Civic Type R-LE by upgrading the Rocket Pass. To further take advantage of these new additions, the unlocked EdgeLight package for Rocket Pass Pro Tiers 70 and above will give the underside of the car’s body kit a unique light effect.

Season eight pits players against each other in the new ’90s-inspired Sovereign Heights Arena. Located in the middle of a major city, the iconic Rocket League PsyNet building can be seen outside the arena. A new hoop arena will also be available after the season, giving the game local appeal.
