Will there be a sequel to A Plague Tale: Requiem? Its developers discuss their plans
In a few weeks, the new adventure of Hugo and Amicia’s sad journey through the 14th century will hit the store.
It’s one of the most anticipated video games for the coming months, but development of A Plague Tale: Requiem only began after A Plague Tale: Innocence’s executive reception was confirmed. The Asobo Studio team admitted in a recent interview that they were not considering a sequel while working on the creation of the first game, which was released in May 2019.
“it wasn’t a fact [el desarrollo de Requiem]. We knew we were a small team, only 40 of us, so we put our heart into development [de A Plague Tale: Innocence], and we did everything we wanted to do with that game. And it was extraordinary for us to see how it was received. We’ve read it all: every article and every comment” looks back to Kevin Pinson, Requiem’s level designer.
Similarly, and although success is expected for the French studio, Pinson doesn’t want to think beyond the start of his next adventure. “To be 100% honest, we have no idea. I assure you we have nothing planned.“.

In A Plague Tale: Requiem, the user is invited to experience a harrowing adventure in an incredible and brutal world distorted by supernatural forces, where the main characters of the first video game, Amicia and Hugo, travel south, to new regions and in action. cities, starting over and controlling the curse that the smaller of the two has inflicted. This setting was spotted in a gameplay trailer shared by Gamescom 2022.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is released October 18 On PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and Xbox Game Pass. In the meantime, you can also read the analysis of the Plague Tale: Innocense.
