Epic Games once again joins forces with TIME to re-bid “March Through Time”educational activity Fortnite celebrate his life and legacy Martin Luther King Jr.completed with period footage of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech. The hope is that this time the event will happen without Epic Games having to resort to repairs against disrespectful users.

The Martin Luther King event was first proposed in late August 2021. March Through Time takes 60-year-old players to a virtual Washington DC called DC 63, which features a variety of museum-style points of interest and missions to complete with other players. .

Although a rather interesting undertaking, last year’s edition received a lot of criticism. Less than a day after launch, Epic Games’ developers had to disable a series of phrases considered disrespectful, such as ballet and tomato throwing, that some rude players used during Martin Luther King’s speech. .

Fortunately, Epic Games seems to have learned from its mistakes, and this time immediately blocked the use of sticky emoticons during the event. It’s still pretty weird to see characters wearing Batman, Goku, Rick, Morty, Nathan Dreake and Banana costumes during Martin Luther King’s speech in the audience, but it’s basically part of the nature of the game.
