The community is full of talented artists, and this Genshin Impact Remake is some of the most impressive fan art you’ll see this year. Indie pixel artist OhoDavi managed to create a brief fight scene that looks like it’s straight out of a Game Boy Advance-era turn-based RPG.
OhoDavi uploaded a short animation to Twitter earlier this week and received praise from many fans. As of this writing, the post has over 44,000 retweets and 178,000 likes, and with good reason. The clip has a full HUD, including character icons for the gang, status numbers, step-by-step action menu, and other eye-catching elements. It’s also incredibly creative and realistic in terms of design, so much so that it feels like it could be a true spinoff game.
The 20-second video shows Ningguang, Keqing, Aether, and Zhongli (wearing their McDonald’s meme outfit, of course) in battle with the Ruin Hunter in Liyue. We can even see Wangshu Inn from afar thanks to the level of detail in the background art. The group also has Xiao, Azhdaha, and Ohodawi as supporting characters, facing a tracker that shows whose turn it is next.
The setup scene is perfect, and it gets even better when Aether launches an attack that results in a Zhongli combo and ends with Keqing performing a fancier version of his Elemental Burst to finish off the Ruin Hunter. Ohodavi mentions in Twitter thread that just starting the Keqing section took them two months, so we can only imagine how much time was spent on the rest.
