How many people play Elden Ring?
Less than a month after its official debut, Elden Ring seems to have established itself as a new franchise start for developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco. As announced in a press release on Tuesday, Elden Ring has already surpassed sales of previous Souls games in 17 days, surpassing 12 million worldwide and 1 million in Japan alone.
So, to get an idea of Elden Ring’s impressive level of support recently as a niche genre title, here’s a detailed breakdown of its player count.

Unfortunately, it’s often difficult to determine a clear and accurate official player count, as developers and publishers often don’t share player data when they reach new milestones.
Fortunately, we know that at least 12 million copies of Elden Ring have been raffled off worldwide.
Additionally, according to SteamDB, on March 3, 2022, Elden Ring reached an all-time high on Steam with 953,426 players competing – the sixth-highest number ever on the platform.
Last week, Elden Ring was seen raising between 300,000 and 500,000 players on Steam.
Of course, these numbers only reveal the players who are currently using the game on PC and do not shed light on the console player base.
“It’s great to see how many people are playing Elden Ring,” said Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and CEO of FromSoftware, in a recent press release. “On behalf of the entire development team, I would like to express my sincere gratitude. Elden Ring is based on a mythological story written by George RR Martin. For the support.”
Elden Ring is now available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | Available for S and Windows PC (via Steam).
