Epic is apparently working on a new Fortnite update for Season 3, tweeted Shiina, an active leader who specializes in Battle Royale. If true, that means there will be two more updates for the current season of Fortnite instead of the usual one, and there’s quite a chance. Shiina says that Epic is currently testing Fortnite v21.51. One commenter said that based on the normal Fortnite schedule, v21.50 should release on August 30, and since X1 updates usually come out a week later, that means Fortnite v21.51 should theoretically release on August 30. August or September 6.
However, there is a little less certainty about what 21.51 might actually include. Some have speculated that another big event could happen, like a concert or another Fortnite film festival. It’s been a few months since the last show, so it’s still a big possibility.
However, the movie seems less likely. Epic usually shows Halloween-themed movies in October (of course), and having a separate non-themed showcase so close to the holiday doesn’t fit Epic’s style.
Other commenters of Twitter he noted that X1 updates usually don’t contain anything too big. The current favorite guess is new cosmetics, as most people think this update will actually be small. Epic recently added the Fortnite Dragon Ball Z crossover to its ever-growing list of crossover skins, and while waiting for another DBZ cosmetic so soon may seem like too much, we’re still hopeful.
But this is Fortnite, so literally anything is possible.
