Riot Games today unveiled new plans for an expanded Challenger ecosystem for the 2023 season. Challengers will include 21 regional circuits across the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA to bring out the best new talent. Challengers will play an important role in identifying promising talent, testing the skills of teams wishing to play in international leagues, and integrating sport with the game. The Challenger Leagues will provide an organized competition that starts with open qualifiers and will line up the top teams in two rounds over several weeks of the regular season. In addition, teams that start with it will be able to rise to international leagues and, one day, even to global events.
