The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign will open a week early for players who pre-order the FPS game, Activision announced in a new gameplay trailer. This will make it harder to avoid spoilers for anyone who doesn’t pre-order within a week of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release date.
This is revealed in a short new trailer showcasing various moments from Modern Warfare 2’s single-player campaign. There’s a shot of cameramen taking up positions outside a farm in the mountains, a first-person shot as he drives through a rocky gorge, and a helicopter flying. through a bustling metropolis at night. It ends with a sniper lying in the grass, dressed in camouflage, ready to shoot.

The trailer informs viewers that if they pre-order Modern Warfare 2 digitally, they’ll be able to play the single-player campaign “one week early” with the caveat that this may be due to potential service outages and will vary depending on player hour belts.
Pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2 Basic on Steam costs $69.99 / £59.99, while the ‘Vault Edition’, which includes additional cosmetics, the first battle pass and tier 50 passes, costs $99.99 US / £84.99.
If you’re not planning on pre-ordering, you’ll need to practice some serious cybersecurity in the week leading up to launch with social media.
Please note that the Single Player Campaign Early Access is separate from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta, which will run on PC from September 24-26, with Early Access starting September 22.
