Citing problems with Roblox cheats, Easy.gg, the development team behind two of the most popular games on the platform itself, announced on August 13 that it had decided to pull its latest battle royale game, Rift Royale, from the platform. metaverse platform.

This is the second time that the development team known for their popular Roblox games, BedWars and Islands, has decided to remove one of their games from the platform. Either way, the Roblox developers’ struggle with cheating in their games seems to be an ongoing problem. Easy.gg’s problems with cheaters echo those of Hutch, a Roblox developer who recently shared his frustration with trying to make a competitive game on the platform.
“Dealing with exploiters all the time is exhausting and demoralizing,” Hutch shared on the Roblox developer forums earlier this month. “The fun I get from developing games for Roblox doesn’t even make up for the exhaustion for me and my mods.”
If Roblox wants to shed its identity as a kids-only platform, developers’ struggle to develop serious competitive games on the platform could be a problem. As kids who play video games get older and learn to play competitive games, they often become more interested in multiplayer competitive games. While they expect a level playing field when competing against their peers, hackers can quickly ruin what could otherwise be a great gaming experience.
