Phasmophobia cards are too big according to a new fan poll

Players have spoken and say they want smaller Phasmophobia cards. A popular Reddit post that sparked controversy suggested new locations on the map in a poll to see what players would like. Among them are a shopping mall, an abandoned factory, and a circus (please, please, no), as well as an office park and an outdoor playground. The general consensus in the comments was that Phasmo needed more than haunted circuses and cursed toilets, it was something less.

The most common reason is that large maps are boring, with most reviewers pointing to the original Asylum as the prime example of the problem areas. Although this is just a recent example of players requesting maps, the sentiment tends to be widespread and Kinetic even promised that the next map would be really small. It’s another madhouse-style location, but with uniquely themed areas and hazards.

Other commenters have added some nuance to the “good and bad” argument, mentioning that what really makes a card good or bad is what’s on it. Take, for example, a rural house. It’s a big map, but the location makes it appealing, with lots of hiding spots, creepy spots, and even a room you have to enter when you exit. The campground, on the other hand, is relatively small and has almost no attractions.

Either way, tiny houses with creative designs seem to be the map’s favorite style, and it’s not hard to see why, even putting the interesting designs aside. The small and medium-sized houses are great for solo play and keep the quests pretty reasonable in length while you’re looking for that last extra objective.

There’s no word yet on when the Sunny Meadows update will be released, but as we approach the game’s second anniversary, we hope to hear some news soon. In the meantime, check out our picks for the best horror games and the best survival games on PC to help you get ahead.
