Volition and Deep Silver are gearing up for their August release with a new Saints Row Character Trailer that reveals what to expect from your wacky lawless friends in the crime game. You arrive in Santo Ileso with the intention of taking over the city with your new business, which is highly illegal and unstable. But you won’t do it alone. The gameplay trailer doesn’t reveal much about the actual gameplay, but it does go into great detail about who you’ll be building your criminal empire with, and who’s getting bigger to stop you.
Eli comes first, calm and collected, the brains behind your entire operation. He is the one who invests the hard earned and ill-gotten gains and keeps the business going. Nina is the driver of the group that fixes all of her cars, and there seem to be so many to get her hands on, and finally Kevin, the shirtless cook who feeds everyone well.
You also need all the help you can get. Alongside the major factions of the city hell-bent on kicking you out, there’s a lone assassin who wants the Boss to never leave his mark.
Shortly after arriving in Santo Ileso, you and your gang settled into a beautiful mansion, so to speak. It’s a significant step up from the dodgy apartments and rooms the group is used to renting, and the perfect place to plan their future heists.
Overall, the Saints Row character trailer looks exactly as we’d hoped. Our Ken Allsop spent a few hours pre-constructing Saints Row in July and was impressed with the amount of chaos the Saints managed to cause. They may be the new crowd, but they’re just as cute and fantastically over-the-top as you’d expect from the show.
