As well as being the first licensed Formula 1 management game released since 2000, the team radio feature in F1 Manager 2022 seems to have players excited for the launch.

In June, a 24-second clip of someone playing the unreleased game went viral as it showed off its pretty impressive dedication to realism.

As seen in the clip, players will hear real-world team radio messages from the 20 drivers and 20 engineers on the F1 2022 grid, including well wishes, as they give orders to their teams during a race weekend or when the drivers react at key moments.

The system is said to consist of over 50,000 files, which developer Frontier Developments says is “mature for further development of future games”.

Robbie Mann, Senior Dialogue Designer for F1 Manager 2022 on the Dev Blog, said: “In terms of our game, we wanted the player to feel like they were interacting with their driver and receive tangible feedback when the driver command or cause issues. React to events throughout the race. As the Dialog team, we are extremely excited to help deliver a truly unique experience and perspective on driving an F1 team, and we we are even more excited to continue developing and developing these aspects of our game.”

F1 Manager 2022 will launch on August 30, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). Those who pre-order the game digitally will have early access to the game starting August 25.
