Before the first anniversary of the release, The Ascent’s first expansion for the dual-stick cyberpunk game was announced. Cyber Heist takes place after the events of the main campaign and introduces new locations, a new weapon class, and a series of top-secret missions that can be played solo or with friends.
Once you complete the main story, you will be able to contact your old boss, Kira, who has a mysterious new job for you. She will take you from your home arcology to a new arcology equipped with the latest technology belonging to the Malhorst-Gelb group.
To face new challenges, you will have new weapons at your disposal. Melee weapons will be added to The Ascent’s arsenal with the Cyber Heist expansion, so you can try things like Rock Crusher and Guillotine.
New story missions and side missions also include new characters to interact with, and you’ll be able to play co-op even if some of your party members are slow to complete the base campaign. As long as the player who published the game has completed it, all party members can explore new content.
Check out our Ascent review if you haven’t played it yet – it’s a great game through and through, though the beauty is only skin deep in some areas. The Cyber Heist DLC release date has been set for August 18. and will cost $9.99 / £7.99.
