Dead by Daylight Chapter 25 Wesker Confirmation: Resident Evil Returns

Leaks of Dead by Daylight began to surface over the weekend, seemingly revealing details about Chapter 25 and the previously announced Raccoon City PD map revamp. Well, thanks to the Behavior Beyond live stream on August 3, another Resident Evil chapter has been confirmed with the release of Project W in DBD in Chapter 25.

Project W will add two more licensed survivors and a new killer to the acclaimed asymmetrical horror game. While some fans will surely be disappointed by the absence of a great Lady Dimitrescu, others are delighted by the news of Albert Wesker. A skin-clad assassin will be able to infect survivors with the Ouroboros virus from an infected hand, greatly reducing his movement speed. Although similar to Nemesis, there will be gameplay differences between the two. Just how different this game will be remains a surprise though, as Behavior’s Mathieu Côté revealed as little as possible during the Behavior Beyond press conference.

Two new survivors will join Wesker and escape from him in the Resident Evil sequel: Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers. Ada Wong, a beautiful femme fatale, is described as “the perfect partner in the field if partnership is right for her” due to her “ability to thrive in a high-stakes environment.” This suggests that Wong’s advantages may have revolved around quick thinking and quick maneuvers in desperate times. Meanwhile, prodigy Rebecca Chambers’ main trait is “helping others, even at her own risk,” which “dictates how she lives her life and participates in the mission.” She is a small but mighty ally. This suggests that Chambers’ perks, as opposed to Wong’s perks, may include benefits when healing and helping other survivors.

Finally, while Resident Evil Chapter 25: Project W won’t feature a new map per se, the existing Raccoon City map will be heavily modified. During the Dead by Daylight 6th anniversary live stream, Behavior announced an overhaul of the infamously complex map, and we now know that the changes include splitting the map in half, which is fairly simple due to its complex size. If you’re familiar with the RPD map, you’ll find that you enter a large hall with two “wings” on the sides and an outdoor area. Now each “wing” will be a separate map, the main room will appear in both, and access to the outer areas will be easier.

Although there is no confirmed release date for Chapter 25 yet, we can assume that Resident Evil: Project W will be released around Tuesday, September 6, 2022. This estimate is based on the release dates of previous chapters like “Sadako Uprising” on Tuesday, March 8 and “Roots”. of Dread on Tuesday, June 7. Characters, maps, and bonuses will be available for testing on PTB approximately three weeks before the chapter release date.

While the Behavior Beyond demo didn’t show any confirmation of the highly anticipated DBD sequel chapter Stranger Things, this Resident Evil news should keep us on our toes for a little while longer.
