Hooked on You’s release date has finally been revealed thanks to a shocking announcement. During the first Behavior Beyond demo on August 3rd, the highly anticipated release date of Hooked on You: A DBD Dating Sim… was announced as August 3rd.
Yes. While we’ve been waiting all this time for a more specific release date than “Summer 2022”, Behavior decided to release us on that day, so you can go ahead and download the Steam exclusive right now. Don’t read this to the end though, because we have some tips you might want to know. But beware, spoilers ahead.
Hooked on You was made a reality thanks to the passionate nature of the Dead by Daylight fanbase, and the DBD dating sim was announced during DBD’s 6th anniversary broadcast on May 25. Behavior bowed to the pressure, but of course wanted to pay homage by enlisting developer Psyop, makers of the equally lovable I Love You Colonel Sanders, to turn our favorite DBD assassins into cute and somehow sexy suitors.
In short, DBD dating simulator is as crazy as you can imagine. Shifting into the dark and gloomy setting of the various Dead by Daylight maps, Hooked on You takes place on Killer Island, a beautiful white-sand paradise island with colorful cocktails. Of course, they never talk about it directly, but it’s basically the “Bachelor” of assassins. Complete mini-games and answer personal questions to take down the killer of your dreams, and be careful who you deny…despite the stunning scenery, they still wield their deadly weapons.
During an early press conference on Hooked on You’s surprise announcement, Partner Relations Manager Mathieu Cot answered some tough questions. More importantly, of course, he was asked if there will be more assassins or chapters in the game in the future. Not wanting to give anything away, Cote also didn’t rule anything out, stating “there’s enough content to do a few more chapters if we wanted to or the demand was high enough.”
When asked if it’s possible that licensed characters like Michael Myers could come out in the future, Cote confirmed that it has been thought about, but of course it needs to be discussed with all partners. The difficulty with licensed characters, Cat continued, is that Hooked On You “changes people’s perception of our characters, which isn’t easy to do with licensed content.” Therefore, it is more likely that we will see some more original DBD characters in the future, if any. Although Hooked on You could already include more than the four announced murderers, because *winks*.
However, even before you see the next chapters, there is still plenty of content to keep you entertained on day one. Avec des hilarious IP blagues et des œufs de Pâques (c’était quoi les “herbes et épices” ?), although of multiple ends and possibilities, vous voudrez sans aucun doute jouer à Hooked on You encore et encore pour essayer de sortir avec all the world. assassins currently available.
If you’re already hooked on the game and can’t wait to meet your opponent on Killer Island, download Hooked on You on Steam now.
