The launch of Elden Ring on YouTube far exceeded Google’s expectations for its video platform. YouTube has shared some of their stats on the YouTube Gaming Twitter page, aptly titled “How Elden Ring Took Over YouTube,” along with a list of launch view comparisons to other popular games, as well as stats showing which bosses and classes tend to download people. most videos. in the popular open world game. And yes, the most popular bosses are probably who you think they are.
The highest number is the total number of launch views. YouTube reports that Elden Ring racked up 3.4 billion views in 60 days. That’s nearly double the number of views GTA V has had in the same period since its release (1.98 billion).
Other popular releases tracked by YouTube include Super Mario Odyssey (828 million views) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (638 million). Skyrim only grossed 456 million, though the first of its many releases came at the height of massive streaming growth, so it’s perhaps not that surprising.
Samurai was the most popular class that people uploaded videos for during the same period, followed by Hero and Rogue, with Astrologer dropping slightly.
And finally, the bosses. Malenia was only the second most popular video uploaded by streamers, and many more videos of Margit the Fallen Omen, the first big boss with a story that you will find in The Lands Between if you follow the path that the game has laid out for you.
We’re a PC site that reviews video games and we give Elden Ring a 10, so of course we’re not surprised at how popular Elden Ring is. The amazing thing is that it is so simple. How? ‘Or what? it was popular with a wider range of people, which is a significant achievement for a studio like FromSoft, which (usually) has a relatively small loyal fan base. It’s telling that other From games, including the long-awaited Demon’s Souls remake for PlayStation 5, didn’t come close to the top five.
Whether it’s the power of the George Martin name associated with gaming or just word of mouth, Elden Ring has certainly made YouTube history. See the stats for yourself YouTube Gaming Twitter page.
