The Beetle Among Us creates an army of mini beans

A recent Among Us bug ensures that you’re never alone in the game of social deduction, but it turns out that it’s actually pretty bad, at least when it’s not an intended feature by the developer. Gary Porter, a programmer at Innersloth, the creator of Among Us, made several videos of the crash where a group of very small teammates appear and, rather annoyingly, continue to climb and swarm around the actual bean. All of these are quite similar to spiders, although the crew members do not yet give birth via egg sacs.

Porter didn’t say where the bug came from, but unsurprisingly, it’s wreaking havoc on Unity. The video he posted lagged every second or so, and he said the teammate meeting caused Unreal to throw dozens of bugs every second, hence the lag.

What Innersloot understandably considers to be bugs, fans were hoping to somehow work into the game.

You have no idea how much I would pay for this multitude of beans,” said one of the commenters. “Let me make them different colors, like I stole them from different people I killed as an impostor.”

It’s a little scary, but that’s certainly how most games between us tend to work. The Innersloth community manager jokingly reminded them that those many mini beans would naturally make tracking easier; That’s definitely not a feature you want, even with the handy capabilities of the “Among Us” class.

Beyond the ease of tracking, there’s an undeniable appeal to getting into a small bob and watching it bounce off the wall like a billiard ball.

Maybe one day “throwing a bean down a hole” could be a new challenge, but due to the lack of new updates and Among Us 2, some modders among us are taking the game into their own hands and turning it into a city builder. . .
