Intel Arc GPU water cooling blocks are available as compatible parts for Gunnir Arc A380 Photon OC are now listed. While the presence of water-cooling components for a graphics card isn’t uncommon in itself, pairing this solution with a low-spec Blue Team competitor might seem a bit strange.
Assigned Fog2K1 on Twitter, the Intel Arc water cooling block in question is a Bykski I-GNA380-X GPU block that appears to be designed specifically for the Gunnir A380. It remains to be seen if this part will be compatible with other Arc Alchemist PCB designs, such as future ASRock models, but this part is mainly for Intel’s budget board.
If you’re familiar with the Intel Arc A380, you know it’s an entry-level graphics card through and through. It will cost you around $192, but you will have to travel abroad to get it as it is currently only available in China. Reviews place its performance somewhere between the RTX 3050 and the AMD Radeon RX 6400, so it’s not exactly the type of card that card enthusiasts will be looking for with water cooling.
However, overclocking the Intel Arc A380 improves performance in Doom and other games by up to 60%. So if you want to squeeze more performance out of a cheap card, connecting an AIO cooler to it might help. Getting rid of conventional fans could also help builders create an ultra-quiet Intel Arc gaming PC that can be placed in the living room instead of a gaming console or media center.
The idea of the Intel Arc A380 sounds strange, but we don’t blame anyone who wants to try it. Again, the block can fit other Arc Alchemist graphics cards, and the cooling concept isn’t entirely redundant in terms of benefits. However, Bykski’s page doesn’t seem to list a price for this part, so you might want to check it out before making budget plans for a PC.
