The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 should offer most of the performance of the RTX 4090 at a much lower price, but this way Team Green was able to successfully keep all tests of the graphics card under lock and key. However, that didn’t stop an intrepid tipster from creating TimeSpy Extreme estimates for the GPU based on its purported specs.
In his latest contribution to the RTX 4000 rumor mill, kopite7kimi I think the RTX 4080 should get more than 15,000 points in the test. As a bonus, they also calculated that the RTX 4070 should have just under 10,000.
While these scores are naturally not as high as the RTX 4090’s scores, which could almost double those of the RTX 3090, they still indicate that the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 are probably very capable GPUs. In fact, if you can’t afford Team Green’s best graphics card when it hits the scene, its cheaper siblings can give you 52-79% of the performance of the RTX 4090.
Until Nvidia lifts the lid on one of these graphics cards, we can’t know for sure how they’ll perform in TimeSpy Extreme or against AMD RDNA 3 GPUs. In the meantime, take this news with a grain of salt and hope these impressive results come true.
