Revealed as part of Sony’s latest State of Play presentation, Gundam Evolution will launch on PS4 and PS5 later this year.
Gundam Evolution, a new free-to-play FPS where players can pilot anime team mobile suits, will be released in a closed network test this spring. Led by Bandai Namco, the game will act as a team-based shooter in 6v6 item-based battle.
The Western trailer was released alongside the State of Play trailer, which featured some of Steve Aok’s game fans with a remix of the main Gundam Evolution theme.
“Early in development, we found two key concepts that we wanted to incorporate into the new Gundam gaming experience: ‘Fast-paced and immersive mobile team battles’ cater to all skills,” said Kazai Maruyama, Executive Producer at Bandai Namco. Mobile Suit to win using development features, abilities and tactics.
“We are working on this title and are thrilled for Gundam fans and FPS fans alike.”
Gundam Evolution will be a free-to-play game where players can choose their team from their favorite TV series and “freely adapt their style of play to the needs of the team”.
The North American Network Test will take place this spring, and PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 gamers will be able to help test out various game features and see everything firsthand. PS5 users will also be able to try 4K resolution and 60fps graphics settings.
