MLB The Show 22 was released on April 5, 2022. Although the game is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it is also available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Already a controversial figure in professional baseball following allegations of steroid abuse, Barry Bonds was out of the game in many ways. As Kacchi90 points out in the YouTube clip below, Bonds has no name or position in the game.
Although his records are recognized by Major League Baseball in the eponymous video game, the records do not contain his name. Instead, the records belong to the San Francisco Giants, the Bonds organization he played when he founded them.
While MLB The Show periodically releases roster updates, it’s unlikely Bonds will appear in a game anytime soon. To compensate for his official absence from the game, some fans decided to create their own Bonds just like him.
