Looking for patches on Elden Ring? Here’s what you need to know.

Patches are a recurring character in FromSoftware games. Patches that somehow stand out in a series are known as misleading. These were Hyena Patches in Demon’s Souls, Trusty Patches in Dark Souls, and even Spider Patches in Bloodborne.

Don’t worry, the patch is coming back to Elden Ring. This time it’s an NPC, a merchant, and even a boss.

So where can you find the dots between the lands?

The spots were first discovered in Murcotter’s Cave in Limgrave. The entrance to the cave can be seen in the middle of the Murquotter River, the opening of which is visible from a nearby torch.

Walking there can be difficult as players may encounter the invading Bloody Finger NPC Nerijus.

Murquotter Cave is a small place, and beyond the entrance is a place of grace. Players must cross the path to the cave that has many Highwayman enemies hovering around it. There are noise traps on the ground which, when activated, warn other highways to leave the left lane.

Head to the cave where you will encounter a yellow wall of fog. Beyond that, the patch will have its place, but players will need to interact with the chest in the room to trigger a fight.

When the patch is almost half health, it will give up. Players can choose to save it or keep fighting. If you save him, he will settle down as a merchant in the cave. You’ll also encounter him elsewhere in the Lands Between, where his quest will be available after the game.

If you choose not to spare him and kill him instead, you will receive a Patch Summon Bag which can be given to Twin Maiden Husks in Round Table Containment to unlock items from the store.
