Former Bungie developers working on Halo Infinite are also working on a new original FPS game based on Unreal Engine 5. A certain company, Affinity, has worked on games in franchises like Halo, Doom, and Call of Duty, and now it looks like the team has its own original FPS.

as indicated @IdleSloth84 On Twitter, Certain Affinity is working on a “new original IP,” according to some LinkedIn pages. Also, there is a list of vacancies for the Game Director position of this new IP with more details. The game is an “original IP first person shooter” and “games as a service” title, which, given the team’s experience with multiplayer games like Destiny and Halo Infinite, isn’t really a surprise.

“We are best known for co-developing many AAA FPS games,” the listing says, “although we are creating some exciting new games now.” As for Unreal Engine 5, at the bottom of the list it also asks for “development experience with UE4 and/or UE5”.

In addition to working on “exciting” new content for Halo Infinite, possibly even a possible Battle Royale mode, Certain Affinity also reportedly helped develop Microsoft’s stalled Perfect Dark reboot. The studio has already helped out with multiplayer for Doom and several Call of Duty and Halo games, so it will be interesting to see what Certain Affinity’s first original IP looks like.

As for Halo Infinite, the community-created Proton patch should allow Steam Deck owners to finally get the game working. Look there for a link on how to do it.
