O BIG festival, the largest gaming, creativity and networking festival in Latin America, has completed its 10th edition with representative figures from the Brazilian gaming industry. The event, which took place from 7 to 10 July at the São Paulo Expo, received around 30,000 visitors over the 4 days of the festival and reached the milestone of 120 million social media interactions and over 300 million on partner profiles.
In order to promote business in the local gaming industry, BIG Festival 2022 was responsible for mediating thousands of professional meetings between national and foreign companies. In total, 6,000 business meetings were scheduled at the festival, in which a record number of companies took part – 669, of which 429 were Brazilian. “O BIG Festival 2022 it was a success. This publication broke records, brought together hundreds of companies in the industry in one place and made several indie games famous. The results survey, which is ongoing, shows that we will pass the $65 million mark in business roundtable turnover, surpassing the last face-to-face round,” says Gustavo Steinberg, Event Director.
In addition to the success of the in-person version of the event, in its online activations BIG festival received over 1.2 million visits. The festival featured special inserts and promotions across the Play Store, App Store, Steam, Xbox Store, and Pokémon GO.
During the event, attendees were able to play more than 200 games, including indie games and AAA games, take photos with celebrities such as Gaules, Nobru and Thiago Leifert, test yet-to-be-released games, attend more than 120 hours of lectures with famous industry players, the likes of Shuhei Yoshida, Takashi Tokita, David K. Lam and David Brevik participate in exclusive stand interactions throughout the festival and more.
