Hotta Studios has released a new Tower of Fantasy trailer highlighting some of the characters you can meet in the upcoming Genshin Impact-style RPG. At least that’s what the trailer is about, but it also focuses on demonstrating some of the elusive methods you can use to get around the sci-fi world of Hades, including a mechanical shell and a robot unicorn. While Tower of Fantasy looks a lot like Genshin Impact from the beta, the trailer helps show off what makes Hotta’s open-world adventure different.
First, you can apparently use your main character’s abilities without changing their appearance, which is helpful if you can customize their appearance. Also featured are a wide variety of weapons that feel unique to the characters that wield them. Shiro wields massive chakra, Samir wields guns, and Kokoritter wields what looks like a magical staff.
Although it seems that most of the characters have a standard set of attacks and two abilities similar to Genshin Impact, it seems that a variety of weapons will make the battle environment more unique.
It also helps that there is a wider range of enemies to fight. In early July, Hotta released a battle trailer that shows a taste of Tower of Fantasy combat, and in it we get glimpses of huge monsters, robots going berserk, people going berserk because the robots seem to have possessed them, and more. . . After.
These appear to be one-off encounters, though the character trailer also shows the usual regular battles you’ll probably have to fight to level up the character, like Genshin and other gacha games.
It’s still unclear when Tower of Fantasy will be released, but with more information, we’d be surprised if Hotta isn’t planning on releasing soon.
