To get Tungsten Carbide, you must first have a Chemistry Lab. When you have a chemistry lab, you can bond tungsten and carbon to produce tungsten carbide.
If you don’t have tungsten, here’s a quick guide on how to get it.
Tungsten is not found in the first world you land on Astroneer. You should also know that tungsten is a refined resource, so to get tungsten you need to find the base mineral and put it on the surface of the smelter.
To create Tungsten, you need to leave Terran to find Wolframite. You can find Wolframite on Desolo, a nearby planet that you can reach by exploring and crafting a shuttle. When you find the wolframite, add it to the smelter and then you have tungsten.
Once you have Tungsten Carbide, you will be able to craft some of the most advanced items in the game. Output varies depending on the Printer Mod you are using. You can create Drill Mod 2, Drill Strength 1, Drill Strength 2, Large Shredder, Extra Large Shredder or Auto Extractor.
