League of Legends spin-off Teamfight Tactics is getting a major update soon. The TFT 12.13 update brings some key changes to the game, reducing match times by shortening multiple rounds. The update also includes a much-needed overhaul of Astral Drake Aurelion Sol, voiceover carousel changes, and does the usual champion and trait balancing that players have come to expect with updates.
Riot says it will reduce the duration of the match by a total of 50 seconds, reducing 2-1, 3-2, and 4-2 boost rounds, 4-7 Treasure Dragon stages, and 5-1 from 10 seconds. which comes right after the treasure dragon trick. It’s not a massive change, but those towers where most players have to curl their fingers are getting a bit of a tweak, which is good.
Aurelion Sol had a lot of work to do with this set – the original version of the dragon could be incredibly powerful when combined with the right items. In update 12.13, Aurelion Sol will be modified to be able to summon an unstable black hole under a random enemy unit. It will explode after two seconds, dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies and increasing damage taken by 20% for 10 seconds.
Black Holes become more deadly after 20 second rounds, getting bigger and dealing 50% more damage. A three-star Aurelion Sol “creates a cosmically large black hole,” Riot says, so prepare for the nature of reality to shift a bit across the board.
The pick order should be clearer when playing Experimental Double Up thanks to the visual representation on the board on the right side of the screen.
In terms of rebalancing, the Astral and Warrior traits will get buffs, while Assassins, Feast, and Mirage: Dawnbringer’s Resolve will get nerfs.
