The mod aims to make your first few hours at Snow School feel a bit more like learning lessons and spells, rather than just jumping straight into the depths of the original RPG journey to Saarthal.
JaySerpa’s College of Winterhold Quest Expansion Mod adds seven new quests that players will receive after completing the first quest to enter the college. JaySerpa explains that “these quests aren’t your epic ‘save the world’ quest lines, but basic lessons for beginners.” Once all the lessons have been completed, the normal Fantasy Games College quests will restart, allowing the pace of the action to resume.
Lessons are divided into Skyrim’s five main schools of magic: Alteration, Destruction, Illusion, Spell, and Restoration, along with a lesson on enchantment and another aimed at improving your mastery of apprenticeship, an essential skill for any budding wizard. Each lesson begins with an introductory reading on the importance of the skill, followed by an activity where it would be useful to apply his new knowledge.
JaySerpa notes that the mod does not modify any spells or make changes to the layout or residents of the university, which means it is compatible with most other mods, including many named mods that affect spells or the university itself. . They say the mod is deliberately understated and designed to replicate the feel of wizard school without everything going wrong at the same time.
