After nearly two years of speculation and excitement, miHoYo has finally revealed that the Dendro item is coming to Genshin Impact in version 3.0. Sumeru is home to the Archon Dendro, and as such, it’s only fitting that a new nature-inspired element emerges when the region launches. Genshin Impact’s next Dendro item has been announced.
Genshin Impact has posted a video on their official YouTube channel that allows players to show off how the Dendro item will work. War Director Aquaria states in the video that “Catalysis, Wisdom, and Life” are the three main points that drive the evolution of the new element and help dictate all of the new synergies and mechanics introduced with Dendro.
Dendro was on Genshin Impact as Dendro Samachurl, Hilichurl, and Slimes. Currently, the only Dendro interaction in the game is Incinerate, which occurs when a Pyro connects to a Dendro (Dendro structures such as shields can only be broken by the Pyro burning them). The video, however, announced Bloom and Catalyze’s new reactions.
Flowering occurs when combined with dendro hydro and is inspired by blooming flowers. The teaser shows that this reaction is used to bring plant structures to life, allowing the player to jump on them to reach massive heights. Catalysis is defined as a completely original reaction and occurs when dendro is combined with electro.

Finally, the teaser delves into a new mechanic called “Polymorph Transformation,” where Dendro’s objects in the environment (from structures to enemies) react differently depending on whether they interact with Hydro, Pyro, and Electro.
This teaser is only the first, so we’ll have more details about Dendro’s reactions and the world of Sumeru in the near future.
