Stray’s release date is just around the corner, and those hoping to play the standalone chat adventure on the Steam Deck are growing increasingly concerned. Fortunately, Valve recently updated the game’s page on the Steam store, and it looks like it should work just fine on a portable gaming PC.

Stray already joins over 1,800 games in earning Steam Deck’s coveted Verified Compatibility rating, meaning it can be played entirely using the device’s built-in controls and display with no distracting quirks. Running it on a portable power station should be easy too, judging by Stray’s system requirements.

Publisher Annapurna Interactive is understandably delighted by the news and celebrates it through short tweet. The news should also make many lucky enough to get their hands on the Steam console very happy, which should continue to grow following Valve’s commitment to double shipments of its portable gaming PC.

While Stray Steam Deck’s verified status is definitely worth noting, overall it could be a surprise hit on PC. It recently overtook The Day Before as the most played game on Steam, indicating that there are plenty of gamers eager to get their hands on it.
