However, full remakes are currently out of the question, Nomura said after the team sat down and considered the cost of the projects. For now, it seems like the only way to get a modern flavor of Dirge of Cerberus and other FF7 spin-offs is with Ever Crisis, a mobile version of the entire Final Fantasy 7 saga.
However, Crisis Core was too important to the plot of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to be locked out on the PlayStation Portable. Nomura said that Zack is a key character in the game, which is why he appears and carries Cloud’s unconscious during the first Rebirth trailer.
Speaking of the Rebirth trailer, Nomura also cleared up one of the more mysterious segments, where Cloud and Sephiroth walk down a desert road together. Although he looked tempting at the time, Nomura said that fans of the original game can probably remember the location due to the mountains in the background. This almost certainly means that this is a flashback of Cloud and Sephiroth traveling to Niflheim’s Mako Reactor, the scene where Cloud first sees Sephiroth’s true nature.
Nomura didn’t bother to say if Sephiroth was playable, just like during the flashback scene.
