If there is something that excites Genshin Impact players, it is the Primogems, blessings from heaven that allow you to create new characters. Naturally, these are the most sought-after items in the game, and while the HoYoVerse gives you plenty of opportunities to earn them, it often seems like there just aren’t enough. So of course, when a moderator on the HoYoLAB website creates an infographic detailing how much Primogems players can earn in version 2.8, people take notice.
Sora Hoshina is a guide writer and modder with over 67,000 subscribers on HoYoLAB. They specialize in computer graphics and make their estimates based on their knowledge of official announcements and previous game releases. SoraHoshina even splits the Primo numbers for F2P and paid players. Of course, there are some differences when it comes to how Primogems are earned, but you can see the full method of it, including sources like Stardust Exchange, Hangout Events, and live streams, in SoraHoshina’s detailed post on HoYoLAB.
They estimate that you can win up to 8,770 Primroses, 10 Knowledge Fates and 5 Intertwined Fates, while paying players can see up to 13,230 Primroses, 10 Knowledge Fates and 9 Intertwined Fates.
Keep in mind, however, that some of these estimates are just that, not facts. Some of these are basically guesses taking into account a lot of proven knowledge from looking at previous builds, and it’s also important to note that the infographic assumes players will earn all prizes with full Abyss stars. It also doesn’t calculate possible Primogem rewards from upcoming unknown events in 2.8.
That said, you can probably still expect to get almost as many Primogems as SoraHoshina predicts, which is a great way to pass the time while you wait for Sumeru and his menagerie of new characters.
