Total War: Warhammer 3’s factions will work a little differently in Immortal Empires, Creative Assembly announced in a new blog post, or more specifically, some of their lords. The development team also teased some of the changes to Be’lakor in the Warriors of Chaos update, and it looks like the Prince of the Underworld will be a lot more interesting in Immortal Empires.
Creative Assembly is taking steps to differentiate lords from factions and make them more unique to play, whereas in the past some lords shared the same campaign starting points and even factions with other nobles. Volkmar of the Cult of Sigmar will now start in the Southlands and receive Gifts of Zeal for sealing heretical books. Meanwhile, Helman Gorst begins in the Far East, and Sigval gains a new seduction ability and begins his campaign in the Chaos Wastes.
Another notable change happened to Vlad and Isabella von Carstein. They won’t get new match points, but you can automatically unlock one of them just by playing the other.
Be’lakor gets a bit more versatile in Immortal Empires. The Unholy Manifestations ability grants the Daemon Prince access to four Chaos God powers, one for each Chaos faction, and while that sounds promising enough on its own, using Unholy Manifestations also requires reinforcements for Be’lakor’s army.
Be’lakor’s shadow eventually transforms the human lord into a demon prince, slowly twisting his essence until Bel’acor defeats them and adds them to his hideous army. Finally, there is Gifts of Chaos, an ability that all Chaos Warriors have where they can gift souls to their gods and receive reinforcements and other useful gifts for battle.
You don’t have to wait long to try Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires. The open beta test of the new mode will start in the fall of 2022, and you will finally have the opportunity to try the huge map of Warriors of Chaos and Immortal Empires, which is twice the size of the previous one.
