AMD Ryzen 7000 processors are just around the corner, but Zen 3 could be delayed a bit longer. Zen 4 is expected to eventually replace the company’s current-gen offering, but rumors point to new Zen 3D chips suitable for budget gaming PCs.
According to a reliable material source. graymon55, on the cards “several new” AMD Zen 3 processors, and we’ll probably know more about the lineup next month. AMD has only released an 8-core Zen3D SKU so far, but we may see Team Red expand its AM4 portfolio with some fun and cheap gaming CPUs that pack a punch.
Speaking of AM4, it seems that there is still life in the current generation AMD platform, as Greymon55 claims that we will see “budget AMD products” in the future. In other words, you may not need to upgrade to a better motherboard to jump on the Zen 4 bandwagon, as cheap chips are still compatible with older sockets. Naturally, this means that some next-gen variants may still support DDR4, which means using a different memory controller.
