HBO MAX Unveils Augmented Reality App for ‘House of the Dragon’ Fans

To celebrate the release of the new Game of Thrones original series House of the Dragon ahead of its August 21 premiere, HBO Max will take fans on a never-before-seen journey through Targaryen-run Westeros with an immersive augmented reality call. “House of the Dragon: Dragon’s Lair”.

“House of the Dragon: Dragon’s Lair” is an interactive experience created by the agency Giant Spoon where Comic-Con attendees will go through the process of hatching a dragon. Following in the footsteps of the Targaryens, each individual will leave our world and travel to King’s Landing, mingling with the townspeople, choosing their own dragon egg and boldly demonstrating that it is worthy of dragon bonds.

From the Dragonstone Caverns to the magnificent Red Castle, a designated Dragon Guardian will guide guests through seven dynamic stages, encountering special interactions and sensory elements created by Bose on their journey.

OUR “House of the Dragon: Dragon’s Lair” ends in the Throne Room, where fans will be able to see for the first time the mighty new Iron Throne of the Targaryen era and sit on it for a photo op, acknowledging the reign of Fire and Blood in this era of Westeros.

Proving that they are real Targaryens, each fan hatches their own personalized virtual dragon egg in the augmented reality app. House of the Dragon: DracARysbefore leaving, allowing them to “breed” their dragon at home. Developed by Niantic Inc. and created by The Mill, House of the Dragon: DracARys will be available for download on the Apple and Google Play app stores at July 20.

Members “House of the Dragon: Dragon’s Lair” will have exclusive access to the in-app dragon hatching features before the app is released worldwide on the same day. July 25.
