Developer Krafton finally unveiled PUBG Deston’s next map live on June 24, confirming the battle royale game’s urban location – the ninth map we’ve seen in PUBG and the first new map since Taego’s 2021 release date. The new PUBG map?
Crafton confirmed the PUBG Deston map with a short promotional video and live stream, and went into more detail about the ninth multiplayer slot now available on the Deston website, including the map itself. It promises much more than the sprawling city of Ripton, with new features like Fortnite-style climbing ropes, airboats, and permanent parachute capability.
New PUBG map release date
New PUBG Deston Map Released July 13. More details and the exact launch time will be available closer to that date. Crafton adds that the Deston Survivor Pass will also be available on that day.
You can see the trailer below.
Deston is described as being destroyed and abandoned after the hurricane, with much of the 8×8 map flooded, requiring an airboat to navigate. Locations include the big city of Ripton, a dam, a wind turbine, a swamp, a now much deadlier paintball arena, and a concert hall with a giant inflatable chicken. You can try it yourself in July.
PUBG’s popularity has skyrocketed since it became free-to-play in January, and the 18.1-rated season is already underway.
