Vampire survival game V Rising has already established itself as a hit on Steam, but it’s still in early access, so there’s plenty more content to come. In a new interview, the vampire game developer reveals plans for V Rising’s finale, which includes the return of Dracula and a “Game of Thrones vibe.”
Stunlock Studios previously said that the release of V Rising 1.0 would be an “evolution” of the current game and teased “some super cool additions”. Now, in a new interview with streamers Asmongold and Rich Campbell, Stunlock has revealed more details about his future plans for Endgame.
“Our goal is to bring Dracula back,” confirms game director Peter Ilves. He continues, “What is his role? Will you be able to defy him? Will you be able to become Dracula in the end? Will you be able to sit on the Throne of Darkness?” These are all questions the team was “really intrigued” about, and players will “definitely see” the return of Dracula “as some sort of big event” at some point.
“Dracula is not just an ending,” adds creative director Martin Lövgren. “His influence on the world will be noticeable even at the beginning of the game. His influence will be what you experience throughout the journey.
The final game will also feature various factions fighting for control, which Ilves describes as “Game of Thrones vibes” between parties such as the undead, the church, the military and others. You can watch the full interview below, with the final performance kicking off at around 43:28.
Since V Rising is the void created by Dracula’s fall, it will be interesting to see him return and force the opposing vampire player to face him. We probably won’t see any of that until V Rising launches properly, of course.
