Intel Raptor Lake processors are expected to hit the market later this year, and their arrival could usher in a new era of processor clock speeds. Reports indicate that the blue team may be working on a chip that will break the 5.0 GHz ceiling that we have found ourselves in for the past few years.

However, OneRaichu says this is probably only possible with Intel’s Thermal Velocity Boost, and it’s likely that only one or two cores can hit 6.0GHz. The CPU in question is probably not a “regular SKU”, they say, which perhaps indicates that a Core i9 13900KS could be in the works.
No one can say for sure how Intel’s 6.0 GHz Raptor Lake processor will compete against AMD’s Ryzen 7000 competitor, as clock speeds are just one of many factors that affect processor performance. And of course, since they are rumours, you can liven up your expectations with a good dose of salt.
