It seems like yesterday Raven Software removed the ability to tweak Warzone loading in the pre-game lobby to fix a potential game crash, and now it’s happened again. Raven announced the Twitter which disabled the ability to switch gears if you join or court another player’s party, and the overall response is not enthusiastic. Raven didn’t actually state a reason for disabling this feature, but most commenters speculated that Raven wanted to prevent players from using a recent glitch that allowed them to equip Cold War and Vanguard camos on Modern Warfare weapons.
Certain Call of Duty content creators, including JGOD, complained that the bug should be a permanent feature as the games seemed to recognize camouflage and other unlockables with no problem. It would seem like a minor issue to justify such drastic action, but one commenter pointed out that it wasn’t the only reason.
twitter user 2JZelo They said that players still use this feature to cheat by appearing in matches with full gear or perks they shouldn’t be using. It’s hard to say if that’s really the reason for Raven’s actions, as the studio doesn’t comment, but if so, it makes sense. Shortly after the feature was first implemented in 2021, Raven disabled it because players were using the same exploit to generate endless dead silence, among other things, and used it to get free camos and exploits.
Raven re-implemented team editing soon after, so if you can’t edit your team between matches now, it’ll probably be back online soon.
