Alder Lake CPUs may be considered one of the best gaming CPUs you can buy today, but their time in the spotlight is almost over as the Raptor Lake release date is fast approaching. Now, as the launch of the company’s future best gaming processors draws closer, there are new details about the performance and features we can expect from the second-generation LGA 1700 chips.
SiSoftware has released a new spec sheet and test data on Alder Lake’s successor, giving us a first-hand look at Raptor Lake’s high-end flagship processor, the Core i9 13900 (via Videocardz). The processor has eight cores of performance and 16 cores of efficiency, for a total of 24 cores and 8 more than its predecessor, the i9 12900. In addition, the chip’s L3 cache is 20% larger and supports DDR5 gaming memory. up to 5600 MHz (according to vs. 4800 in the 12th generation). ).
These Raptor Lake i9 13900 specs mean a 33-50% performance improvement in ALU/FPU tests in the SiSoftware Sandra benchmark compared to its predecessor Alder Lake. Meanwhile, other vectorized/SIMD tests showed gains of 5-8%.
It’s unclear how these specs will affect the actual performance of top PC games or most-used productivity apps, but we’ll see Raptor Lake performance and performance soon.
