Photo Mode comes to Dying Light 2 with a new free DLC chapter

Parkour-flavored zombie game Dying Light 2 is getting a long-awaited (and much-requested) photo mode this week. Dying Light 2 update 1.4 adds a photo mode that lets you line up your own amazing screenshots, as well as the first free DLC for Dying Light 2. The update will be released on June 14.

“In the Footsteps of the Night Runner” puts you in contact with Harper, a former Night Runner who wants your help to get rid of some of the Special Infected that threaten the townspeople. As you complete Harper’s missions, you’ll earn Reputation Points that unlock powerful new weapons, consumables, and gear. You can find Harper in the Fisheye Dining Room.

Dying Light 2’s photo mode has the usual set of options: you can freely move the camera around your character and adjust the lens’s zoom, focus distance, and depth of field. There’s also a selection of filters, styles, video frames, and other ways to bring the final image to life before you hit F12.

Here is the trailer for the new story content:

Following in the footsteps of the night runner, new enemies also appear: a mutated infected, a mutable tyrant, and a mutable hive to fight Harper’s missions. To do more, there is also a new system of daily and weekly rewards that will send you out at night to complete difficult tasks for additional reputation points with Harper. He can also purchase special Chapter Mission Tickets from Harper that will put his stealth, parkour, and combat skills to the test in a series of time trials.

Best of all, it’s a free update. Techland says this is the first step in a five-year post-launch support plan for Dying Light 2. The first paid DLC pack is scheduled to release in September after a delay announced in May.
