Career players may wonder if they can save Max.
The Quarry is a cinematic horror game where the player controls nine camp counselors struggling to survive a night of fear, and player choice is directly influenced by the players. One of those actors is Max, and actors can save him depending on how they play.
Although players cannot avoid turning Max into a werewolf, they can prevent his death. Saving Max in The Quarry is relatively simple. At the start of the game, Max and Laura find themselves in a hurricane shelter. Here Max will be ambushed by the creature and the player can help Max or abandon Max. This choice has no effect on Max’s life or death, and the immediate outcome of this scenario will be the same so players can choose whichever option they want.
Whichever option the player chooses, Max will live. For most of the game, Max stays behind to protect the rest of the isolated group. The only time Max has a chance to die is in Episode 10.
If Dylan and Laura are killed at this point, Max will be killed in Episode 10 after deciding to swim to the beach and meet Kelly immediately. To avoid this, players should only do Laura and Dylan throughout the game. This will avoid the sequence that allows Max to die completely.
