The new Elden Ring 1.05 update is finally out, two months after the last April update, and the patch notes reveal some useful features like moving ball bearings to New Game Plus and the ability to go back to desktop (finally), but 1.05 also solves the strange Jarburg mystery.
The Elden Ring 1.05 Patch Notes are packed with exciting new fixes and features for the acclaimed RPG. For PC gamers, the biggest new feature is the addition of a direct “return to desktop” option from within the game, so you don’t have to go back to the main menu before you can exit. Also, most ball bearings unlocked in the store with Twin Maiden Husks will now carry over to your New Game Plus game so you don’t have to pick them up again.
There are many interesting fixes and additions, but as with the previous fixes, there are also some hidden changes. Players have already unearthed one, which finally cleared up the mystery of Jarburg’s route on the map.
Jarburg, in case you didn’t know, is a hidden throwing town east of Liurnia from the lake, which you have to climb down the cliff from the Carian Training Hall to get to. Even before the Elden Ring exit, the map clearly but inconsistently showed a non-existent route to Jarburg, which passed through the training room. This road was removed from the map in patch 1.05.
They changed the map again in 1.05 so that it no longer shows the non-existing path to Jarbag. by Eldenring
Players had different theories about the mystery route, but it seems the mystery is now solved: it was either a bug or a relic of an old map where Jarburg was easier to get to. Again, how did these banks get here?
These mysteries are one of the reasons why Elden Ring is one of the best fantasy games on PC and one of the best games of 2022 right now.
