The trailer is truly gorgeous and holds great promise for this animated series, which seems to combine classic cyberpunk styles with Japanese anime’s graphic and animation style. Studio Trigger. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a standalone series, so it’s separate from the game’s story and consists of 10 episodes and is produced by Netflix in direct collaboration with CD Projekt RED.
The responsible studio is the studio that previously created other well-known series such as Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia. Announced as early as June 2020, a release time has been set for Cyberpunk Edgerunners. September 2022so it’s pretty close now.
The Cyberpunk Edgerunners series explains: History A street kid, an Edgerunner or an outlaw mercenary, trying to survive in Cyberpunk 2077’s ultra-technological city of Night City, but characterized by horrific social inequalities and violence. Rafał Jaki (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher: Ronin) is the showrunner of the series and Executive Producer with Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor and Saya the Elder. Studio Trigger is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare), responsible for design and animation.
