Devs Day was released on June 9, 2022, the event dedicated to the world of indie and allowing us to see the trailer for Desta The Memories Between. The game will be released for PC and consoles.
Desta The Memories Between is the new game from Ustwo Games, best known as the authors of Monument Valley. The team explains that with this new game, they want to “take games like rogue-lite and turn-based tactical games and bring sports games together.” The themes of the game are dreams and fears.
In Memories Between Desta, we take control of Desta. The character is about twenty years old and returns home, leaving him “not in the best way” a long time ago. We know that our character’s father is dead, and this has created a crack in the family that cannot communicate properly.
When the family reunites, they find an old ball they were playing with their father. When they fall asleep, they find themselves in an “interworldly world” where they can explore dreams that are also memories: in which it will be possible to play ball and solve family problems.
There will be many characters that Desta will have to deal with, and they will all have a strong impact on our character and life. The characters will not only be connected to Desta, they will be connected to each other as well, so it looks like there will be a big, detailed story to explore that will take place around Desta.
The team explains that they added a lot to Desta. They say it can be said with all their games, but it is even more true with Desta. This new game definitely has a lot more mechanics than previous games from Ustwo Games; it also promises to be deeper.
We also saw A Little to the Left, Bear and Breakfast and Roots of Pacha at work tonight.
