CD Projekt Red has announced that its new animated series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, will be coming to Netflix in September.
Announced as part of Netflix Geeked Week, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is the world of CD Projekt Red’s latest Cyberpunk 2077 RPG. The show will be a 10-episode standalone series that tells the story of a street kid who is an illegally recruited road runner to ensure his own survival.
In addition to the show created by CD Projekt Red, the show features director Hiroyuki Imaish (Guren Lagan, Kill la Kill, Promare), character designer Joch Yoshinar (Academy of Little Witches, BNA: New Animal) and writers Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions’ The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (GRIDMAN UNIVERSE series).
CD Projekt Red has released a trailer for the show, which you can watch below, and a behind-the-scenes production documentary that will reveal some of the early vision footage and concept art.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will premiere on Netflix in September 2022. As of this writing, the final date has yet to be officially announced, but more information will likely be closer by then.
