Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith
The Gunsmith system has been revamped for Modern Warfare 2, introducing a new way for players to unlock various weapons and attachments. Instead of focusing on a single weapon in the rack, players now have platforms that lead to different types of weapons. Each weapon that appears on the platform has a number of generic attachments that can be used once unlocked.
For example, if you primarily use the M4 assault rifle, you can unlock new weapons in the M4 “pedigree,” including the M16, .458 Socom, and LMG Fightlite. While there are common attachments on the family tree, each weapon also has its own unique set of attachments.
It seems that players need to be selective when it comes to choosing the perfect set of attachments in Modern Warfare 2. The MP5 in Gunsmith has slots for ten different attachments, but it seems that players can’t just choose between three locations. We don’t know if the investment amount increases as your weapons level up, but it could create some interesting dynamics when combined with Gunsmith’s new “customization” system.
Attachment customization is the latest addition to Gunsmith, giving players the ability to make small changes to each attachment to create the perfect loadout. It’s not clear if this setting can be applied to all attachments, but we now know that it definitely applies to chests.
In the example shown, players can tune an SMG’s barrel to excel in four different areas: heavy (recoil control) and light (aim speed), long (aim speed), and short (aim stability). ). Dragging the slider to one area negatively affects the other side; for example, if you go for the heavier, shorter barrel, your weapon’s mobility will be significantly affected in two key areas.
