Minecraft Warden: How to Spawn, Avoid or Fight

Do you want to know a little more about the new Warden mob in Minecraft? This terrifying monster can be found deep in Minecraft caves as part of the Minecraft 1.19 update. He recently debuted in the first snapshot of Minecraft.

minecraft guardian patrols the deepest areas of the caves and is the only blind mob in the game. So what makes the Guardian so intimidating? Well, lack of vision doesn’t mean the Guardian can’t find you. Instead, the Guardian uses sound to locate the player, which means you have to be very stealthy to avoid a confrontation with this new mob; if you’re smart, you can throw things like snowballs to move the Guardian in a different direction. However, if you find yourself exposed and have nowhere to go, you will have to face this mighty beast.

Join us as we take a look at everything Mojang has shared about one of the scariest Minecraft monsters in the game, from its damage and health to its move stats and where it spawns.

Spawn Guard in Minecraft

Guardians spawn in the Deep Dark biome, so you’ll need to get pretty far into the cave expedition before you run into this mob. Guardians have unique spawn requirements. If the light level is below 11 and there are no other guardians nearby, the guardian will appear from the ground every time the player activates Screamer’s Roll three times.

If the Guardian enters daylight or a brightly lit room, it will immediately bury itself and disappear forever. He too will bury himself in a minute and lose sight of you.

Overseer Tips in Minecraft

How to avoid the Minecraft guardian

Guardians move, reacting to sounds they pick up from the skeleton in their chests. The lights will flash every time the Guardian passes due to the Darkness debuff he gives off. If you are close to the Guardian, this darkness also affects your vision.

If you choose to sneak, the guardian will pass by harmlessly as long as you stay put and don’t make a sound. Throwing snowballs can help distract the Guardian long enough for them to get through.

However, if you alert the guardian to your presence by making too much noise, getting too close, or alerting the howler, it will become increasingly agitated before going into a rage and chasing you. You have several options; run away, fight him or throw him out of your way.

The Guardian can outrun a player who is running at full speed, so if you want to outrun them, make sure you have a clear path and enough stamina to get there in time. A word of warning: Hazards like water won’t slow him down and he’s immune to damage and knockback effects from fire and lava.

There are several things you can do to get the Guardian off track. First, mobs other than guardians can make it attack instead of moving. You can also confuse him by throwing projectiles or activating the chariot, allowing you to escape.

How to beat the guardian in minecraft

The Guardian has a whopping 250 hearts. This health pool, combined with their high attack stats, makes them the strongest of all the naturally spawning mobs in Minecraft. Since the strength of his attack depends on your difficulty level, these are the Guardian’s stats:

  • Easy: 8 hearts per move
  • Normal: 15 hearts per hit
  • Hard: 22.5 hearts per move

His attacks temporarily disable Minecraft shields and have a long vertical range of up to four blocks. So if you’re playing on hard mode, it can instantly kill you with a single hit, even if you’re wearing full Netherite armor.

If you kill the Guardian somehow, you’ll get three meager experience orbs for your trouble. The block he is standing on also becomes a skull block and the surrounding blocks become skull veins.
